Sapienza Back On Stage!

After a nearly two years break, Chris had the opportunity to get back on stage as Brother Jeremiah in Something Rotten at the Forestburgh Playhouse in the Catskills of New York!

Chris had his callback for this production back on March 9, 2020....just days before the world went into lock-down.  He was offered the show the following week and accepted the contract immediately. But, as did all productions across the country, the show had been postponed - and then finally canceled for their season.

So imagine the joy when he got the email saying "We want you back!"  "I was thrilled!", said Sapienza.  "I've been wanting to place this role ever since seeing the original Broadway Company a few years back".  With a cast of amazing fellow AEA actors along with some of the most talented young artists to hit the stage, Chris took on Brother Jeremiah with, as on revue stated, "Fire and Brimstone with flash and unexpected humor."

He looks forward to playing this role again...and again....and again....and...well...you know.

Sci-fi meets eco-fiction in this simply amazing story about the world we know and don't know. A gripping fast-paced adventure that involves a growing relationship between a baby right whale named Otis and the young marine biologist, Carly, that can read his mind. This high seas adventure involves many of the modern issues we all face, from the destruction of our seas, the politicians who shield the acts of destruction, and how the system can be changed with a little guts.

"I was so honored to be asked to take on this powerful story.  Matt writes in such a cinematic way that I watched every moment of the story come to life in my mind as I read it.  It was great fun creating these characters and I hope those listening are drawn into it as much as I was", Sapienza states.  "I look forward to more of what his pen to paper brings us!"

"Over the years I have witnessed Chris’s talent in many forms, and that is why I was so pleased when we decided to partner on the audio version of my Eco-Fiction book Carly & Otis Show the World.  The man has so many talents at his disposal that I could not have imagined a better fit to do the reading.  Having listened to him sing, to seeing him act on both stage and screen I knew he was the perfect fit to bring the characters and my story to life, and he did not disappoint.  He carried the emotion of loss and the screams of excitement at all the right moments and made each character his.  Reading a book into life for others to enjoy is a daunting task yet Chris made it simple, feeling each word and keeping the story true to what I intended, when I listened to it for the first time it was perfect as if my own subconscious was reading the story to me and that folks is what true talent can bring to the table.  I look forward to many more collaborations with this consummate professional." - Matthew Beggarly (Author)

SAPIENZA on stage with World Premier!

June 23, 2017

Christopher will be taking to the stage in the cult classic new musical SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES at Delaware Theatre Company.  This World Premier Musical hits the stage from September 13 through October 8.  He will be portraying the town barber, Mr. Crossetti.

"I am beyond thrilled to be getting the chance to work not only for the first time at DTC, but to have the chance to work with Neil Bartram and Brian Hill is amazing!" says Sapienza.

The Bartram/Hill duo have had great success in the past with their Tony Nominated THE STORY OF MY LIFE that hit the boards of Broadway in 2009.

"Working on new material is one of my favorites things to do", says Sapienza.  "I get to create something from nothing.  I truly become a vessel for the character to speak and sing through and the creators and director get to mold the cast to get their vision to come to life.  It's pretty exciting!"

Tickets go on sale July 17th.  Visit www.delawaretheatre.org
